1. Introduction

RINGTAIL GEAR, a brand of GARN PROVISIONS LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), is a small, Arizona-based business that makes handcrafted bags and pouches and also sells outdoor gear and accessories. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have when you visit ringtailgear.com (the "Site"), sign up for our emails or texts, contact us, or buy from us.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing address.
Order details — what you bought, order totals, and shipping and delivery information.
Messages — anything you send through our contact form or by email, including order numbers and photos you choose to include.
Marketing sign-ups — the email address or phone number you give us to sign up for our emails or texts, and your subscription preferences.
Account details — if and when customer accounts are available, your login information and order history.

Information collected automatically: when you use the Site, your browser and our service providers may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the page that referred you. See Section 6.

Payment information: checkout and payment are handled by Shopify and its payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle returns, exchanges and refunds.
To send transactional messages, such as order confirmations and shipping updates.
To answer your questions and provide customer support.
To send marketing emails and texts — only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To run, secure and improve the Site and our products.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security problems.
To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Email Marketing

If you join our email list, we'll send you news about product drops, discounts and field notes. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you by emailing jacob@ringtailgear.com. Unsubscribing stops all marketing emails. If you place an order, we'll still email you about that order, such as your order confirmation and shipping updates.

5. SMS/Text Messaging

If you sign up for texts by entering your phone number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (such as product drops, promotions and cart reminders) from RINGTAIL GEAR at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your phone number and text consent are shared only with Klaviyo, the platform we use to send these messages, and only for that purpose. We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.

6. Cookies, Local Storage & Similar Technologies

The Site stores a small amount of information in your browser (using local storage) to keep your shopping cart, remember which products you've bought from this browser, and save the product catalog and our latest Instagram posts so pages load faster. This information stays on your device. Our checkout, run by Shopify, uses cookies to process your order, prevent fraud and keep checkout secure.

Some parts of the Site load content from other companies, which means your browser connects to their servers and shares your IP address with them: fonts from Google Fonts, and our Instagram feed through Behold and Instagram.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, ad-tracking pixels or cross-site behavioral advertising. If that changes, we'll update this policy first. You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings, but parts of the Site, like your cart and checkout, may not work without them.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as needed to run our business:

Service providers who work on our behalf — for example, Shopify (online store, checkout and order management), Netlify (hosts the Site and receives contact form messages), Klaviyo (email and text messages), payment processors and shipping carriers. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
Legal and safety reasons — when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, our customers or others from fraud or harm.
Business transfers — if we're involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
With your consent — in any other case where you ask us to or agree to it.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above — for example, order records for as long as required for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, and marketing contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards, and trusted providers like Shopify, to protect your information. Payments are encrypted and processed by our payment providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete your personal information.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising, or profiling (we don't do these today).
Not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

Residents of states with consumer privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others — have these rights under their state's law. To make a request, email us at jacob@ringtailgear.com or use our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we'll respond as required by law.

We honor browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we don't sell or share the information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Visitors Outside the United States

RINGTAIL GEAR is based in the United States and currently ships only within the US. If you visit the Site from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the Site or by email.
